- Description
- This chapter discusses the role of community based media, specifically participatory video, towards building cohesive communities based on an ethnographic case study of a participatory video production workshop which the author conducted with rural women in Fiji. Community-centred media, it argues, can play a pivotal role in the reconciliation process in post-conflict societies such as Fiji. Through their engagement in message development individuals are able to dialogue and find ways of solving problems in their own communities.
