- Description
- This chapter provides a brief theoretical framework to explain how and why the land surface can affect weather and climate. The key equations that describe how energy and water are exchanged between the atmosphere and the land surface are explained. The rest of Part A builds on this framework to illustrate examples of where evidence exists to support the role of the land surface in weather and climate.
