- Description
- In this chapter, we explore reasons for assessing young children's literacy learning, as well as some of the controversies associated with this concept. Examples are provided of helpful strategies and approaches to assess literacy growth in children from their earliest years through the first years of school. The importance of the inclusion of multiple voices over time and recognition of the complexity of the assessment task are emphasised.
