Description: In this paper I interrogate why a nation grounded with an overarching assumption of a unified community is increasingly being confronted with ruptures, breaches and anomalies when it comes to indigenous inclusion. I search the intersections of current political rhetoric and indigenous relations to uncover an entrenched colonialism in relation to this inclusion. Following Nancy’s notion of partage, which connotes a sharing while sharing out, and the structure of ‘engaging with’ rather than ‘deciding for’, I sketch an originary relation of ethos that questions the material effects of a community homogenously bounded by ownership and entrepreneurialism.
