This paper reports findings from an exploratory study examining IPR protection strategies by a sample of foreign and local businesses operating in China. These strategies and practices go beyond the usual legal means to include social responsibility measures, innovation one-stop business-solution, close cooperation with local business partner, market quarantine, and production-process isolation.
