Description: According to a 2008 survey of members of the American Geological Institute human activity contributes significantly to changes in mean global temperatures. A review suggests that the findings derived from the survey are unlikely to be an artefact of the sampling. Nor is it likely that the results would have been substantially different if the question had referred explicitly to global warming or asked not just about whether human activity contributed significantly but also accounted for most of the rise in mean global temperatures.
