- Description
- The article discusses the electrostatic waves in plasmas containing positive and negative ions of equal mass and opposite charge. Numerical analysis showed that the electron plasma mode in a cold plasma may become backward due to the density gradient and may be controlled either by the electron number density or the mode number in the perpendicular direction. It is said that an instability may develop in plasma with hot electrons.
