Description
The spirit of sustainability is promoted within the religion and philosophy of the Australian Aboriginal people. It emphasizes the preeminence of the land and configures humankind as part of the larger whole through a worldview referred to in English as Dreaming. Indigenous religion requires attentiveness to the needs of all things and proposes that those who destroy what has been created ultimately destroy themselves.
