Macquarie University ResearchOnline is Macquarie University’s open access digital collection.

It is designed to promote globally, preserve locally and provide open access to the research and scholarly output of Macquarie University’s staff, students and affiliates.

ResearchOnline includes theses from Macquarie University's Digital Theses Collection and provides Macquarie University thesis records for Australasian Digital Theses (ADT) Program.

It is developed, managed and maintained by Macquarie University Library’s Digital Repository Project team.

Amongst the types of material included in Research Online are:
  • Journal articles
  • Conference papers
  • Books and book chapters
  • Theses
  • Working papers
  • Images

The benefits of publications being in the ResearchOnline collection include:
  • The University’s research is exposed to a wider, global audience because publications listed are freely available worldwide through open-access services, e.g. Google Scholar, Australasian Digital Theses Program.
  • The potential to increase article citation rate and impact.
  • Download and usage statistics for each paper are provided.
  • The “Author Profile” option lists all publications in ResearchOnline by author, with usage statistics for each publication
  • Publications are stored and preserved in a safe, digital environment.
